Basilica Cistern
Istanbul's largest and most magnificent underground Cistern. Built by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century to supply water to the near-by palace complex, the cistern has a total of 336 decorated columns.
Hagia Sophia
The magnificent Byzantine Church of all times; one of the finest and largest architectural works of art in the world. It has been nominated to be the 8th wonder of the world by many historians.
Spice Bazaar
Built in 1660 with the taxes collected from the trade of Egyptian herbs and spices, the exotically domed bazaar is filled with the enticing aromas of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint and thyme.
St. Sophia is closed on Monday. Replaced with Kariye (St. Savior in Chora) Museum.
